I have a focusrite saffire 6usb, a st66 sterling (all the essencials that I need for it as well), my keyboard I could set up to hear the audio through my headphones....
can't seem to set up the mic, and I don't know how to use the Live Lite 8 program...

PLEASE HELP!

What are your headphones plugged into?

What is your keyboard plugged into?

What is your microphone plugged into?

Have you switched on phantom power?

my headphones are plugged into the saffire
keyboard plugged into saffire ( I am getting sound from that)
mic is also plugged into saffire
phantom is on I believe that is the 48V correct?

Couple of questions:
Since your Saffire6 has 2 inputs, how do you have your keyboard hooked up?
Is it in an XLR input?

Since you're using Live, I assume you're on a Mac. The Mac version of MixingConsole is apparently different from the Windows version, but the priciples should be the same. You need to make sure that you have the following set up: (for example purposes, I'll assume your keyboard is in input 1 and your mic in #2)

You need to make sure that you have input 2 routed to the proper line output, as well as to your headphones (which have their own routing settings).
Also, like Armistice said, make sure the phantom power is on (the 48v button, but only on the mic - not the keyboard).
On the console, make sure that input 2's volume is up to a reasonable level. Finally, somewhere in Live, I assume there is a Settings (or something similar) menu.
You need to make sure that your DAW is set to record from #2 (there is usually a drop down menu to select the inputs that are available).

MixingConsole is a pain in the ass, but once you get it set up, it's very capable. Also (I can't stress this enough) after you get it set up properly SAVE YOUR SETTINGS. Trust me on that one...

I hope that helps. I've got a Scarlett 8i6 running on Windows, and it was a pain in the ass to set up too. I think it's something that every Focusrite interface owner goes through... :cursing:
