Just starting and Need some advice!

Hey guys,

I'm 16 years old, Male, Quite Handsome, and I believe I have a natural tune to three different levels of voice.

I have a medium-high pitch
A medium pitch
and a Rapper's pitch.

The thing is though, my family isn't really musical, and so iv'e decided to pursue making songs because thats what I want to do.

I want to sing at home, but I know my voice will be heard by my family and I dont want them to hear (just yet) Because im still practicing.

I have a seperate game room, and i could probably close all the doors and sing in there. :P

Anyway,

I'm trying to make a Music Video,

Where I will be recording my voice singing a song, and then put like different backgrounds behind me like a green screen.

Then Im going to be using CakeWalk Sonar Producer 8.5 to make my rythms and put my voice together on the video.

So basically,

The voice will be recorded seperate from the music effects.

If I could get any tutorials or recommendations to help me get started then id'e greatly appreciate it.

P.S

Also, im planning to go to a small forest near my neighborhood to sing there, during the summer times when its warmer outside. :)

I'd say, make the music first, then sing to it. Don't talk about green forests and being handsome, that's just weirded me out... But yeah - I'd get started with the rythyms if I were you.

As for tutorials, well, use a search engine. There must be billions out there, on different stages of what you are trying to achieve, so try to be more specific. Like: tutorials on what, exactly? Making rythyms? Hooking up a mixer? Singing? Video production?

If this is your first stab, then keep it simple and tackle one stage at a time, solving problems as you come across them. You sound like you're trying to run before you walk but if you are determined, you could probably achieve a lot, by setting yourself a set of realistic goals.

Kind regards

Dr. V

Dear Dr.Varney

I have decided to dedicate the most of my spare time to making music, so I'm as productive as possible,

also, the forest thing, was just a place where i could sing without anyone hearing me practice lol :P

I have gotten a tutorial on using Sonar Production so I'll be okay with learning rythms.

I'll need a reliable tutorial on Video Production.

As I hope it will be my main highlight.

I wan't to know how you can put yourself in different places using a green screen/other techniques and transition between it.

I'm hoping to learn a lot and i'm very computer savvy.
i know pretty much how to do anything on a computer, so i'll quickly learn.
I once took a game design course and got 3 certificates while i was still in school. so i do have a lot of perseverance.

Thanks,

Dan

Try scouting youtube for video tutorials for the software you'll be using.
