I just went ahead and ordered reason 3 from studica.com ($280 Canadian with an academic licence). I'm really excited as it is just time for summer break and i'll have a new toy to master. If you havn't checked out reason, or if you havn't seen the new version, take a look at www.propellerheads.se Also check out the video totorial page to see what it can do, i'm super impresssed.
I'm mostly looking forward to its natural sounds, rather than its electronic ones. For the longest time i've wanted to record some of my band's songs but we didn't have the time, gear or talent to make it worth while. Now i can take my time and make a killer CD with the tons of sounds available. Specifially, i was extremely impressed with the drum kit refill. it has natural drum kits for the sampler that sound as good, IMHO as some BFD samples i have heard. Also the orkerster and pano samples will be sweet as well..
Does anybody else use reason here? any advice?
