Just playing around

I played the 'hifi' version and it sounds like a 64k mp3, sounds extremely lo-fi. Initially during that t-storm, I thought 'wow those drums are REAL far back', I thought it was an effect. Quiet, tons of reverb. When the t-storm was gone it still sounded the same, like I'm listening to it over a low bitrate internet radio station or something.

The playing and singing are good, it's a nice song, but it's hard to gauge the production, cuz the SQ is so low. Remix it down, convert it to a 320k mp3 and upload that, I'd like to hear a clearer version.

Yeah I will. I did mess it up trying to reduce the size of the mp3 to upload. Thanks

I had a hard time telling if the tune was 3/4 or 4/4. The time is real ambiguous without audible subdivision. And I swear some of the tom hits are, like, off the farm...but it's hard to tell if it's me, or they're really whack....cuz there's no reference. That's not a good thing...if you can't sway accurately to what you're hearing...anticipating the time.

"On a dark and cloudy day..."
Hmmmm....has the ring of "It was a dark and stormy night." I immediately cringed at it. For example, you can get away with "Dark, cloudy [raining!!!] day....." 'On' and 'and' are gone...for the better.

Suggest some editing of superfluous verbage throughout, and a re-sing....more impressionistic painting of the scene without the prose. Too stiff for the mood of the tune.

The rain was real loud...and the intro, way long...espacially with no audible time subdivision. No hats.

Needs hats.

The Julio Iglasias verb is over the top.

In the process of cleaning it up a little bit. I agree the verb and delay was drastic, as I said in the post just playing around, but it is a song worth working on. Good advise on the lyrics< Ill take that into consideration. Also agree on the timing it does need hats that would help me with playing it. Ill post a little cleaner version of it for now, but as soon as I get some time this week I think Ill go back to the drawing board and redo the whole thing.
Thanks for the great advise. Well Taken!!!!!
