My music store blowout box had a bunch of heads in there. Anything from old remo to evans. I picked up 3 Evans Hydraulic heads (one was the blue color) for a total of $5. I also picked up a few misc 6-10" heads for 50 cents a piece (even though I don't have any 6-10 toms, I couldn't let it go for 50 cents).

Anyway. I currently tried out using a coated ambassador as the resonant head, and the hydraulic as the batter, and it sounded pretty good, and I'm happy with it, but I'm just curious as to what a Hydraulic as the batter and resonant would sound like. Something along the lines of incredibly dry and muffled I'm assuming? Does anyone use, or know someone who uses these?

Oh, and I also picked up another 16" Evans. From the looks of it, I'd say it's definatly a 2 ply, with a coated head on top, and clear on the bottom. It says "Evans 58 uno 1000" on it. I'm not sure what to do with it, but it only cost me $1. Anyone have any suggestions for what to do with this one?
