Just got Reason 3 and Have no idea what I am doing HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know everyone who reads this will find this funny and easy, but i am lost. I just want to do simple recording and mess around. I press the record button when i am playing something but nothing ever happens. Am i missing something? please help!!!!!!!!!!
 
but i guess it was cracked even though the cd says reason it looks bad and sketchy
 
Hmmm,

you are new so I will cut ya some slack:

the unwritten rule around here is to not use cracked stuff, and if you do, dont be foolish enough to let people know it. Nobody will answer your questions if you are a pirate.
 
He didn't actually say he was using a burned CD, just one that looked sketchy(?). Anyways, I'll assume the poster is using a legit version; do what I did and google reason tutorial and read those pages, they helped me a lot.

It worked (for my legit version)

Sketchy like "Reason" is hand-written? or sketchy like the CD is all scratched up?

It all may make a difference....

i'm not a "pirate" my friend gave me a cd that looked like a bad jewel cover and i used it i'm sorry i don;t have 400 bucks to spend. anyways thanks i will try the tutorial thanks for your help
 
hey

Although I'm more of a rock type, I went through the info on each of the modules in the help system and made myself a little techno tune in about 1 hour. (Not a terribly wonderful tune, but it served it's purpose.)

Learning how to simply use each module will increase your comfort level.

For me it was Reason 1.0 however ... I'm not fortunate or rich enough for any other versions.

It just worked for me, and it's an alternate , and complimentary route to that proposed by cowboyj.

thanks for everyone's help. one more thing. i don't need a special sound card to record right? i have a good one but not a crazy one i thought that was the reason
