Okay, I sing/scream (mainly the latter) at home, on my desktop computer. Previously it was done with built in web-cam mic and audacity, now I have the Avid Vocal Studio from Best Buy (with the M-Audio Producer USB mic and Pro Tools SE software) But a few things. I am lost as to what to do now, so far I have been plug n play but I want to learn more about all of the Pro Tools effects, what they do, how to use them, and the mic as well, as far as positioning, acoustics, how to do a home made pop filter, etc.

I am doing this in a trailer, in the living room (kinda large) is where my computer is, wall paneling and wood floors, so yeah....

Any help would be great, and if this is in the wrong area I'm sorry, I was lost as to where to post this. I thought since I'm new to recording this would be right.

If you want reference as to how I sound currently etc, let me know and I will put my youtube username on here.

You are never going to get a great sound with a USB mic. Period. Of course it'll be better than the webcam mic. before investing in a better recording environment, upgrade to a better mic and audio interface.
You can make a homemade pop filter with a pair of old pantyhose and a coat hanger, but for the effort, just cough up $20 and buy one!
