Just Got my Tube Amp

My new tube amp just arrived today and I must say Im quite impressed with sound. I unfortuantley have to wait a few more days for the cabinet to come in but Ive been running it through my old 120watt digital amp for now.

Now Ive read through the manual and everything else and I cant seem to figure out how to use all of its features properly.

I have an effects loop on the back. Im assuming that would be to run a cord from the send to my pedal then from the pedal back into the recieve? ... I tried this and when the loop is turned on it sounds like ass. Ive been getting a few results- either the volume is too low. Or even running through a perfectly clean channel on the pedal the sound doesnt come out like it should.(ie: distortion on the amp is up, running through the pedal on a clean chan. it sounds different than if I were to just have the loop off and the amp distorted.) or when I tried using my wah on from the pedal and the amp distorted it sounds real messed up. Almost as if its processing the effects out of order. ie: Clean chan being wah'ed then being dostorted by the amp, gives it a wierd sound? im not quite sure how to explain that.

Effects loops come after the Preamp. The preamp makes the instrument level signal LINE LEVEL. Line level is NOT instrument level. Effects were designed for instrument level signals so some do not work well with line level signs.

Most rack-mount gear is designed for Line level signals.

And make sure that digital amps ohms match up to your tube amp or your are screwing yourself right off the bat.
