Just got Home Studio 2, need help...

I just got Home Studio 2 yesterday as an upgrade from my bundled Cubasis. I am using a Tascam US-224 USB unit. I can't get the MIDI metronome to work (I am MIDI retarded, I don't use it ever) and the one from the PC speaker is practicly inaudible. Also when I record audio, it is all garbles coming from my PC speakers, but is fine when I listen to it through my unit's moniter headphones. Help me, I am very overwealmed. Thanks.

Does your sound card have a midi synthesizer in it? If not, you will need an external midi device to generate the sound(s).

No but I figured out how to work that, but I am still stumped by the garbled audio
