I don't have details about Reason; I don't use it. But the synth is fine, it's your settings in Reason that are messed up. It's gotta be fine, it's working with Garageband.

Double-check the MIDI input settings in Reason.

record what? Audio? Midi? Please clarify what you want to do
record midi, it plays fine in garage band, but i ncnat get it in life or reason, and reason is the main program i want to use, i got the midi cables set up, and everything set up in the prefrences, but it still produces no sound, only the demo song,

I'm at my office now, but will give you a step by step when i get home

OK.

First thing you need to do is to set the keyboard as a master controller:

Got to edit/Pref/control surfaces and keyboards. Choose add, Manufacture: <other>. Name it whatever and choose the input port (whatever midi port the keyboard is plugged into)

Now looking at the sequencer (the thing at the bottom), each loaded instrument has its own track, to the very left paine there is a dot button, and little button with a keyboard on it. When you click the little keyboard, it should turn solid and the arm button will light up. That is how you assign your master controller to each instrument. Now you just press record and thats it
