Purge

Traitorous Usurper
Not much of a mixing issue here (after all, it's only one friggin' track), but I've got a long and boring night of work ahead of me. This is a self-indulgent "gosh-look-at-me-use-a-delay-pedal" thing that I wrote for my 10 month old goddaughter after listening to waaaaaaayyyy too much Buckethead. She seemed to like it okay. (actually, she started giggling and immediately shit her pants after listening to it, so who knows what that means??)

Any tips on eq-ing, compression, or whatever you feel like throwing at it are always welcome. It's called October's Daughter.

I tried, but this good ol' gov't pc is having issues with media player. I am going to switch pc's and give it a listen a bit later (my boss is on mine. He likes it more than his, which I am on.....)

K?

Works fine for me.

Wow, is that in real time? Slick as shit on glass.

It's fine as is, not much to it sonically.

Yeah, that's in real time. Just gratuitous use of delay is all...

If anybody's interested...https://homerecording.com/bbs/showthread.php?t=143630&highlight=fun+guitar+effects
It's the third one down.

Thanks for listening.
I finally got my pc back and gave it a listen. Gratuituos fretboard masturbation is good for the soul. I wish I still had a delay stomp box. It's too hard to play with plugins....

It had a "Cathedral meets Flight Of The Bumblebee" flavor to it!

Cool stuff!

Hey Jake, funny thought--I played this for my mother and she thought it sucked!!

At least you can get an honest opinion out of her. My mother would love it if I recorded my farts through an SM-57 and added reverb... :o

THAT'S been my problem... all this time... sheesh... I've been forgetting to add REVERB to my recorded flatulence.

Thanks for the tip Rokket! :D

Oh yeah... and nice guitar work purge... add some bass and drums and you're one step closer to an Eric Johnson type vibe.

Hey, thanks to everybody who listened. If I can get a one-track tune to sound okay, then maybe I'll be another step closer to getting a whole song done properly. Much appreciation for all the comments.
