try this...get a similar distortion effect (one with more treble already?) and double track your rhythm. pan them a bit each side of the spread. turn the gain down a bit to give more quality and less of a brittle sound. the other guitar and the bass will heavy it up to compensate anyhow.
slightly turn up your vocals to bring them out a bit more. they're good as i said before, but occasionally just sit quiet and get drown by the guitar.
chuck in some pick scrapes for good measure

i love em i do, especially with these types of guitar tracks !!!! haha well, depends on your personal taste really but i love em especially goin into the chorus.
youre on to a winner. as a demo, or a 'live' track, its fine (once you got your drummer back). as a song, just work on the sound of the guitar, and the vocal levels/clarity etc.
i like it. im not gonna say my chunes are any good, cos i wouldnt have posted them on here for criticism, but if you listen to either or both that i posted recently, you'll hear the doubled up and panned guitars (tho i need to work on these as ive been advised so they dont swamp the mix, but i like the sound i got, and actually turned down the gain for the first time EVER!! and strangely enough sounds heavier...hmm. i lifted my vocals out the mixed and slapped on a bit of compression and slight reverb.
and some pick scrapes!!!! wahey!!!
cheers
