Just bought new eq plugin

Closest thing I've heard to an ITB eq that can actually sound 'warm'. Boosted highs are smooth. Thing has character. Definitely one of my go to eq's now. If the stock Cubase eq's were in a closet already, they are now thrown in the dump. And not in a good way like a sweet snare! lol!

What are you to use it on mostly? Does it favor one source over an other?

I have spent the last three days trying it on everything. Vocals, guitars, bass, even on the master buss just to see what it was made of. It just sounds good everywhere. I seem to be able to get better low end control with this thing as well. A 6 db boost with Cubase eq just sounds like a crass frequency boost. Do it with this, and it sounds pleasing and for lack of a better word, rich. It just sounds good. :D

Then it looks as though that plug in is going to get quite a work out!

"utilizing FAT double sampling "
;)

So would you say the 'valve thingy has to be in or is a large part of it's uniqueness?

Couldn't quite tell, was the 'EX in the $59?

Actually no. The eq sounds great without it. The valve thingy (adjustable saturation) just adds another level of uniqueness as opposed to just a saturation on/off switch. It can get quite dirty with this 'thingy'. :D

Yeah, the ex is part of the $59 deal. Two plugs included. I'm gussing this is only an introductory price as I have read this may become part of their sQuad bundle soon. There is an ongoing thread about the plug on GS here. That is how I heard about it and I'm already a fan of the Vintage Warmer.

Trial version, hell yes! :D
I've heard good things about PSP. Have you tried any of their other stuff?

Everyone is saying about the same thing ..... closest to the original unit than any other plugin!!! ;)

from GS..
I have tried both and can confirm that the uad sounds more gritty and "cloudy" compared to the psp.
Wow someone mentioned what I've sort of been cool about re the UAD. Love it on a narrow high boost for the drum bus and here and there, otherwise hit and miss.
Thanks for the heads up there Jimmy. :)

Thanks out again jimmy. Really likeing this thing. I'm using it on some live tracks (mine- really bad, basically a damage control gig
Been twisting the heck out of a really dull guitar d/i track (using it like a amp tone stack!
Nice in the normal stuff as well
Cheers

Cool man. I wouldn't throw out a reco if I didn't see it worthy. I'm really liking what it can do with low end tweaking myself. :)
