If this was your first piece of rack gear, I was going to ask how you knew they made great equipment before you got it, the part that influenced you decision, but then decided not to ask.

You asked anyway :p

I had my first experience with Behringer when I bought small Tube Ultragain for recording vocals - although the mic I had back then completely sucked (sold as 3 units for 40 bucks :| ) - it made a hellofa lot difference. Damn I still use it as my guitar pre for DI recording. I have Behringer mixer, monitors and EQ pedal and they all had given me 120% quality of what I even expected for that price.

With this Composer Pro - I needed a compressor/gate and Behringer was my first option. I went to Harmony Central (which is my favorite website for the "read before buy" thing) and everyone's reviews confirmed my expectations - I haven't looked any further.

I must say, I'm giddy from your love for your first piece of rack gear, though. Reminds me of when I bought my first Joemeek recording channel, previously used to hearing the pres of my 488MKII at the time. I still have, use, and love that little box! It is on snare duties, these days.

Congratulations, man.

First love never dies, eh ? Cheers dude!

Indeed, first love does not die. I still have that machine and have no intent on selling it. Great machine!

Composer Pro...I still have an Ultrafex Pro circa 2003 or so. Don't use it much anymore, do to equipment change....the 488 really needed an "exciter" like that, but sadly I'm not using the 488 much these days. I've been meaning to sell the Ultrafex, but something in me can't get the motivation to. I think I'd rather keep it safe and sound until I find the next use for it...maybe paired back next to the 488MKII in future days from now:):)
