hey folks, I'm asking here cause I know a lot of you burn cds. I've been having a little trouble from time to time with my burners. Or maybe something else. I burn on a standalone from my 788, and all's well. The cds play in it, my puter, and my truck. I copy cds with the standalone and with the puter, and they play all over. This is true until it comes to my wife's car. So it may be her player. But this has only happened recently. Her car used to play them and it plays store bought cds fine. It's a 2000 model car. Some of the copied cds play with scratches and pops, and some don't even read, and some just play a static kinda sound. What might be causing this? I clean all the players and burners at lease once a week with one of those cd drive cleaners.

Anyway, if you have any thoughts on this, please feel free.

Are the blank CD's you are using all the same?

Basically every batch of CDR is slightly different and each factory that makes CDR's use different chemicals etc.

Some players don't like certain CDR's.

Try copying the suspect cd's to a few different brands of CDR and see if any of them work in the car.

thanks Paul. I'll try that. I've been using memorex and have had good success with those. Sony works good. It could be the last bunch of maxell.

Any thoughts on the best ones to use?
