Although very new to the group and possibly speaking a bit prematurely....I think mixing and recording as referred to in most of the posts is more for the the ideal home studio setup (albeit small or large). However what I have noticed in reading a multitude of posts is that there may be a need for more discourse on multitrack recorders such as the Korg D1600 or the Akai DPS16 and so on and so forth. Reason being that for many, this is the primary and in many cases sole source of recording apparatus (minus the external pres, fx processors, etc....). I may have simply overlooked this info, but if not, is anyone (other than myself) feeling this idea? Once again to reiterate my subject, this is...."just a thought..."

I don't understand your point.......

"Mixing" needs to occur anytime you are recording multiple tracks... whether or not you're using an all-in-one PortaStudio or discrete gear components is irrelevant!

Huh?

I think that he is saying that there needs to be more threads on recoding with standalone multitrackers. Either that or that there should be more on making the most when recording not in an "ideal home studio setup". I think that I'll just go watch basketball.
