Well I have a DBX 266xl compressor... Man at first I was having problems not getting signal from my compressor and that was just because some plugs were in the wrong places. Any how now that I got the plugs right this compressor is great!!! It works great, sounds great, aww hell the price was great and thats the best thing about it. Quality for low quantity!!! How I know its sounds good because I rap and I made a jingle for the radio station down here and they told me it sounds good. So for a $100 bucks a 266xl DBX is perfect... Well aight everyone payce!!!

I have been looking at this same unit. Where did you get it for $100.00? Is that a used price? I did find it new for $125.00 + shipping on e-bay.

Glad it worked for you, but I'd caution anybody else to try out a few other budget units as well before dropping the $$$ on a 266. The 266 isn't exactly the most, um, well, let's say "versitile" compressor ever made. Sounds like it was good for what you were doing though.

:confused: What's "payce" Da Arsun? Didn't get the latest slang update.

payce=peace!

You've got the Dbx 2666XL??

Commiserations............the Dbx 2666XL was the worst purchase I ever made. A noisy piece of shit IMNSHO. But hey, if you're happy with the results that's just dandy.

Don't try the 2666 XL on bass guitar or other low frequency stuff - it can't handle it. There'll be snap crackle n' pop all over the place.

That's kind-of what I was trying to say in a bit more dipomatic way. I owned one for about a day once. It went right back to the shop.

Yeah well I"m just using it on vocals, thats all. And its fine and dandy it I might add...

I used a dbx Project 1 266 that I used to have, on the kick and snare in this '97 recording:

Sometimes it makes me wonder if I should buy-up a used one on eBay and see what I can get out of it now days...
