Hello everyone :) I was planning on buying my first mic soon and after much thought i decided on the MXL V67G. So i was wondering if you were to use an XLR-USB converter such as the Mic Port Pro or Blue Icicle will the sound quality be better than a regular USB mic?

It's going to be a per brand/model answer.

The Blue Icicle appears to be only 44.1/16bit while the Mic Port Pro 96/24bit.
AFA as individual USB mics...each will have different levels of quality.
It's all relative to how much "better" you are talking about or need.

Personally...the whole notion of USB mics or using USB to transfer serious audio just doesn't sit well with me, but YMMV.
