Two things

I can't believe you have a real hammond now, how did I not catch that...
I remember talking about bass and distortion once. The pedal will always thin it out. It can work better if you blend a DI and the distortion so you can keep the fuzz without losing the meat.

Yes, the Hammond is a fun toy. I wish it was portable though!

I remember that conversation and have used your advice on many occasions since.

This time it was an afterthought though, after the proper bass part had already been done. I just added this on top at the very end and now wonder if it might be better without that bit altogether.
