Weve got the right room for that particular sound. Weve got a great kit, and a Supra. We can do the cigs on the snare track ect ect. Im just looking to try and make my own drum sound, but Ringos Plastic Ono Band sound, especially the snare, is what Id like to at least base it off of. Its my favorite drum sound of all time. What I cant figure out is if he just used D19s as overheads and such, or if he closed miced the top of his snare with it. I know at one point in the earlier days he used a setup of a D20 on kick, D19x2 on overheads and a KM84 under the snare I believe (correct me if im mistaken). Probably too far back in terms of different setups they used to match the John Lennon setup, or get the sound. I could be wrong about this too, but from what ive gathered it seems the further it gets in to the Beatles albums, the more close micing is used.
