Bill Lawrence
First Kinman's now Bill Lawrence 280's. I just ordered them so it'll probably be another week before they come in. I hope these are "the ones", I made sure that the poles will align with my string spacing on these. We'll see what happens... I just spent $260 or more for those Kinmans so the price of Lawrence's is one factor in my decision ($40 a piece.) One thing about the Barden's that I dont like is the fact that Joe kept telling me that his pickups are perfect for every player, every sound, every type of music.. I just didnt buy it, wouldn't everybody be using them if that's the case even if they do cost over $300. I just didnt feel right about that comment. But Joe seems nice and is helpful even if he is biased.. Oh and if anyone wants to talk guitar, amps, pickups and stuff give Bill Lawrence a call (toll free number on his website) He'll talk your ears off if you figure out his German (I think) accent. It was like a history class talking to him, "back in the 40's it was like this... pickups were.. and amps were..." I think he really has been there and done that, hopefully his pickups will show for it.
