Sounds great! I really dig it, all except the drums! I don't know why the hi hats drop out before snare hits, but that kinda stuck out big time for me (I'm a drummer hehe), but other than that, good job!

I'm just going to sustain that note at 2:31, I think, instead of the broken voice cry for help (when I get a chance to record again)....it's not having the impact it's supposed to. Sam says it sounds like a bad patch cable....that can't be good! I'll just do the obvious, be normal and avoid confusion :)

There ya go Jeff...it's all you this time! I didn't touch your drums...hehe

The drum Nazi's have arrived...defend yourself or die!

yeah.. electronic drums only sounded good on Pyromania. :)

I agree with nik d .. they need work ;)

I played a real drum set maybe a couple times in my human existance, so that might reflect on the drum sound :)

Thanks for the listen!

Wow.

Yup, Bowie.

Who's the guitar player from GNR? Spit, Stab, something like that. Is JMarcomb an alias?

Great tune.

Great sounding as always!
The electric guitars are awsome, mixed perfect with the acoustic.
Nice tones Jeff!
I dig the panning on the vocals.

The acoustic break/harmony section at 2:33 was beautiful!

Really great song, and job on the collab!
You guys Rock!:D

Thanks for sharing,
Pete

Wow! Excellent song. I really like the production. The blend of acoustic and electrics is very cool and gives the tune a lot of texture. The vocals are killer. The last part of the tune reminded me of Bowie. I like the hell out of this one.

:D .......re-arrange your press kit jeff, youve got a stage name.......

When ya need a solo, call .......Spit Marcomb .......:D

Amazing song, amazing guitar, amazing vocals!

That's what I call great music. I specially liked the guitar solo and the roger-waterish vocals when you double an octave upper.

The only comment I can make is that it lacks a bit of definition in the kick, but it must be because of my crappy computer speakers; and teh snare is a tad dry and kinda dominates the mix a little bit. But that's nitpicking, because I really enjoyed the song, the performances and the mix.

Keep it up!

El Flapo

one word - AWESOME!

ok, another word - INCREDIBLE!

ok, another word - BRILLIANT!

awesomely incredibly brilliant arrangement, playing, vocals, etc......

I was cranking this one again..

It didnt occur to me, but Jeff's snare drum sounds a lot like yours.. a little weak for such a heavy sounding rhythm, and the bass drum sounds low.. I was listening on my actual stereo speakers this time..

Just figured I'd tell you guys that I'm still spinning it..

Because it deserves it

Okay, I listened to this on a variety of settings. First, on air, low volume, then...on air LOUD volume. Then on the headphones quiet, loud, loud medium, loud deafening, quiet again.

On all the LOUD listens, it sounded best. On the quieter version, I'm still catching some pitch issues, but only on the bg vox. They stood out most on the on air listens, and at the beginning. The IDEAS on the vocals are incredibly cool. If I were "lazy" and didn't want to retrack them, I'd tune them. Of course, I have no idea how to "tune" vocals, really...I mean, is that even possible? (note my avatar :D)

Tightening up the vocals is about the only thing I have to offer. And yes...LOL...I do realize that they're supposed to be discordant...it's not that. They're a hair off.

NOW FOR THE FUN PART: Man, those guitar sounds are thick and beautiful, and they seem to be very well balanced.

Oh, and on a personal note...thanks for posting the lyrics; that's always cool for me.

Bye,
Chris

cool song......nice harmonies on the vocals.........very clean recording.......the song has some great parts.......it seems to come and go in sections which is really cool............nice work

Hi guys...just walked in from 2 days in the snowy woods of northern Maine. My next song will be about how much I suck at hunting whitetails.

Thanks for all the comments guys...and speaking of suck, I know all too well already how bad my vocals suck. :) This was a 9am brainstorm recording, and I know that's no excuse but... I was interested in what you think of Jeff's music and if my ideas worked at all for it. Thanks for all the help!

I know you're being modest, and I don't think it's false modesty at all, but I felt kinda' compelled to say that your vocals don't "suck" at all on this. The lead sounds patently perfect to my untrained ears. Just slight adjustments on the backups...that's what I meant to say, anyway.

If you ever post anything that sucks, man...I'll be all OVER that. I can't wait, but I'm not holding my breath. :D

Hey tha's cool Chris...thanks. I guess what I mean is I feel much more comfortable and strong as a writer for vocals than I do as a vocalist, which I'm not. I hear the pitch problems, but I'm not physically good enough yet to get them perfect.
Thanks bro.
