JCM 900 Clean Tones

I'm trying to get a little bit more of a cleaner sound out of the clean channel of my JCM900.
I am thinking about using lower gain tubes.
Does anyone know which valves are for which channel?

I doubt there are any tubes that you swap that will not affect the second channel.

You could try rolling back on the guitars volume or getting a volume pedal.
