I just saw a topic on truss rods and reminded me about my Jackson.

I got a deal on a Jackson DK2, and a truss rod adjuster didnt come with the deal. The action is high and it needs to be adjusted badly. I tryed to use a standard allen wrench I use on my strat, but it doesn't fit. Anyone else have this problem with an overseas jackson? Anyone have a solution? Anyone not get what I'm talking about?

:)

Well......

I have read that with a Jackson you have to remove the neck to get to the truss rod adjustment mechanism - poor design in my opinion.........

good luck!!

My Jackson Infinity Pro has the truss adjustment in the typical location under the cover in the headstock. Maybe you just need to use a metric allen?

does anyone know where I could purchase one of these?

Amazon.com in a pinch, but just go to a hardware store and buy a full set of standard and metrics. You'll need them anyway... eventually.

You don't have to take the neck off of a jackson dk2 to do a truss rod adjustment.

I think he might mean something like this

You need a metric allen, not the "pipe" looking one either. However, adjusting the truss is not the way to go about lowering the action. You adjust action at the nut or at the bridge by lowering the saddles. The truss rod is for adjusting neck relief.

Here is a basic explanation on the Ibanez site:
