Let me start by saying that I love this site and the information that one is able to give and receive. Now, enough of the onlooking: I need help!

I am a singer/rapper/lyricist and have completed the songs that I will be using for my demo. I have conquered the mic problem, mixing problem, satisfaction and editing problem. now I am ready to put it out there. But how? I've heard of DAT's and stuff, but everyobdy has their own opinion of how to record from your mixer.....

What I need are suggestions of what to record on, where I could find it and the least expensive solution without sacrificing quality (yeah-I know).

All suggestions, comments, answers and so forth are greatly appreciated!

IMHO, burning to CD is by far the most cost effective and practical option. If you are looking at getting lots of copies professionally made however, you first need to check what formats whoever you take your music to can accept - I think some places don't like CDR's... but if you just wanna make a few copies for friends or whatever, then definately CDR

In reference to burning cds....

Thanks for your response. However, I have come to the conclusion that I will definitely have to get my tracks mastered before I send it to anyone. In addition to that, I have heard that the quality is better when you record onto a DAT as opposed to a cd.

Is this true?

Also, my main purpose is not for distributing them myself, but to get them to a label, producer or manager etc.
