Yeah .... but more in terms of reliability than sound. A lot of the new less expensive tube amps sound good ..... but they tend to be less reliable.

i've got a girlfriend....you can't have her.....i've got a goofball in my head

Point to point soldering offers low stability (which in analogue can be a good thing sound wise) you have to apply more heat when point to point soldering which in turn decreases the spec of components. Eg resistor values can change +/- 2% of their rating when soldered. So if you have a circuit full of +/- 5% resistors you can end up with +/- 7% ones. (It can go the other way EG - 3%) And this all depends on the starting value. Other factory produced circuitboards solder in a more intricate. Delivering solder at a very high speed and accurate way - this will lead to less instability. (Resistors are just an example, other components suffer or gain from point to point soldering)

First off guys,I was wasted when I started this thread.Just finished a 4
hr gig and drank many bourbon and cokes afterward. So if I offended any-
one that likes that sucky SS tone,I apologize.

The only thing that offends me is a weak, nead to see a therapist for nurturing, sissy appology. Be a man and own your humourous thread! :D
