I've finally made up my mind about Carvin

companies often forget... everyone is a customer, even when not buying...

it starts at the top and the employees must be empowered. without, the Customer is No 1 coming from the top, you get what you got with Carvin. I have had a similar experience when them even when buying new equipment. It was somewhat of a don't care attitude.

after a few trips to the Gibson factory i have sworn them off as ever getting used in my band... that said i have never worked with Carvin yet but have thought many times about one of their accoustic guitars! the one time i played one was a Rosewood D model and man it was really well made! the fit and finish was better than a lot of Martins i have seen or at least = to them.... i think i remember playing another guitar from them not long ago that was one of the jumbo models and it was also VERY well made but just lacked the tone i thought a jumbo should have...

In the interest of fairness and honesty, i will report this is the email I received today...

Daniel,

I don't have a way to email an invoice.

We did a full set up on both necks, polished the frets and cleaned the
electronics. The guitar is ready.

The guitar is in great shape considering it's age.

The question is, is this what was needed? My guy worked on it for a couple of hours, and there were some definite neck issues. We'll find out in a week or so when I get it back.

As for why I did this was simple. I was trying to avoid one of the shipping trips that takes 5 days across the country, and I was expecting to be able to carry on or gate check and save shipping costs and 5 days and make some connection with the company.

Like I said- when it comes back and it's perfect, I'll give proper accolades.
