Lambo: Yes, I try my best to use the mic in such way that the p's don't sound too explosive, but the problem is that sometimes I get ppl in here who have very poor mic technique, (ie. can't stay in the same place for more than half the song, extremely explosive p's, not backing away from the mic for loud parts, etc.) so I've decided to go with the pop filter for extreme cases.
I haven't needed duct tape yet. I wrapped the coat hanger around the mic stand 3-4 wraps creating a very un-pretty coil. The weight from the stitching hoop presses down on the coil which gives enuf friction for it to keep from sliding down the mic stand (for a while). Problem is that it's not very stable.
And yes, it's UGLY.
Man, maybe it's worth it to shell out the extra money for a real one.
