Hello again everyone. I've decided on buying the delta 44. I can't justify spending any more on a card when I'm just starting out.

Now then, on to the next step: Monitors. I'm going to go through the thread that I started a while ago ("What's your speaker setup") to get some recommendations, but I have a few questions first.

1) Obviously monitors will give enough range and clarity of sound to allow mastering. Otherwise you people wouldn't be using them, hehe. Do they pack enough punch to be used as the main speakers for my computer, as well? You know, to play MP3s, games, etc. I would really like to avoid having 2 sets, if you know what I mean. This is feasible, right?

2) Next question, I don't *NEED* a mixer, right? I know that a lot of you like having the extra inputs and stuff, but I'm on a very limited budget right now ;)

To reiterate, I'm only going to be recording one thing at a time (solo project), and everything is going to be done on the computer... no going out to rack-mount gear or anything.

Thanks guys :)

I use the Klipsch THX Lucas films 4 speaker and sub. with my setup.
Cost me about 300.00 and sometimes I will tie in to my home stereo just to hear the difference.
You can setup your system to output system sounds for games, etc... to your delta card.
As for a mixer, if your only recording 1 track at a time, you dont necc. need it. But you may need a preamp for a mic.
