I've come to the conclusion that I hate my soundcard...

I mean how hard should it be to route audio from a DAW to an external device and back into the DAW?

I've spent a total of about 3 days trying to just that with a E-Poo 1820M card. PatchMix this... :mad: and just when I had figured it out. There is simply not enough output on the back of the supposedle line level connectins on the back. I mean come on I plugged my triton into the back of the card and the signal isn't even close to being something worth recording. I've pretty much had it with this card and would not wish it on my worst enemy.

AGHHHGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!! rant over
 
Go with RME. Your routing problems will be history. Multiface works like none other. :cool:
 
get a mac and a some MOTU or Digi gear...

i know you wont do that but its worth a recommendation.
 
How long have you had the card?

My new 1820 lost it today uploading CUBASE. Everytime I go to emu.com and load the newest version all is well. If I don't o anything I'm good (i think?..shit I don't know anymore??)

Actually all was well before loading Cubase...personally I like Kristal better, the layout is simple.

Seems all these cards have their issues form what i read. Software is always pushing the other software out of the way, moving things around in the harddrive while we're sleeping.
 
Okay I went home and spent a few more hours with it and guess what? I got the damned thing working finally. I still have to run the outputs of 1820 through a preamp to get a decent signal though i think it's an impedence mismatch or something.

CC my 1820M started out as a 1212M. I had the Audiodock in a box sitting in a corner for about 3-5 months before deciding to go ahead and hook it up. Then I started plugging things into the back of it when I got my patchbay about 2 weeks ago. That's when i started trying to configure the thing to work and kept running into problem after problem.
 
I hate the Patchmicer for my 1212m.
I upgraded to the latest drivers and have not had a lot of problems.
 
yeah even though mine is a new-used-clearance item ( :confused: )...

the web you guys sent me to worked well. the new revision-drivers really was the fix for mine I believe. I'm a simpleton and just use the Defaults...good enough for me.

once it came online with the 1.82, there was a numerous Defaults to choose from. Yeah the 1820M has the extra card and Hi-End converters I read. M=Mastering.

yeah I was kind of confused on the Patchmixer-upper too.
My first go at Kristal was like straight into the Recording SOftware.

PitchMaxer just seems to get in the way....I think they made the connections too complicated too. What do I know being a fresh newbie.

Anyway, once it was setup with Defaults...I never look at
MixPatcher much.
