Its short, its synth pop, it has a little guitar in it...all the ingredients in which to add my bad, lashings of reverb, 80s stylee, vocals to :)


all comments and listens will be rewarded with a flock of seagulls hairdo and a miami vice style suit with rolled up sleeves :drunk:




updated: cut back on the sub kick, more low end added to bass

Sounds pretty cool. :D I like the stereo spread of the song. The vocals sound good. I think they can come up a tiny tiny tiny bit. The mix is good.

Thanks for the kind words Henry, I didnt enjoy making this one..I need to get a bit more confident, but overall I think its turned out one of my better tracks

you get two suits and a crockett figurine :D

Keith... You're a musical maniac. No nits with the mix. Sounds like everything has its space, but .... (and this is totally preferential) These types of songs with the fast drums, and trance-like sounds totally turn me off. I don't get it, and I never have. Sounds like you did everything right within the genre, but in my opinion, this genre just sucks. Cheers! :eek:
 
you and your trance lol...this is what I actually want to play, the trance stuff feels a little like painting by numbers at times thats why Ive only done the one so far, this is synth pop al la 80s..or meant to be ;)

Definately got an 80's feel to it. Kind of reminded me of Duran Duran. Pretty good though. I think the lyrics really bring your songs together too. I'm on PC speakers, but yeah I believe lyrics up a tad and it would be great.

Good work KC. Put the vocal up, go for it! The melody in the chorus is real nice, make it stand out. My friend always used to say you draw more negative attention to the vocals when the listener is struggling to hear them. Its an interesting point. Thanks for the post !

so thats three on the vocals..Ill turn them up a db or 2 and see if that does it...I think its the first time ive put vocals on a song since the beginning of the year and my voice was making me cringe...theyre a bit wobbly in spots but Im a "one take, fix it in the mix" kinda guy :D

ive turned the vocals up a small amount so they're clearer, unfortunately so become the wobbles lol

This is the song I like best from you up to now. Pure 80's electronica, very Human League, Gary Numan etc. Simply wonderful. The bass synth could use some low end, although there's plenty of that coming from the kick. Your voice is just perfect, you could maybe put a bit more of that telephone effect on it. I like those rattle-snake noises. Lovely tune, Keith, more of this!:)
My bald head could use that hairdo.........:D

yeah Ill give the kick/bass a bit of a listen...I was programming the drums at first for a dance tune so some adjustments will be needed..good shout :)

you can have a wig and a pink suit...sorry, i got them on a batch discount ;)
 
It's a little light in the bottom end. I've got my drums set up in here with me and they're not resonating like they normally would, so that means it needs more oomph. This is a more interesting arrangement than you're usual stuff though, and it's not too long. Maybe it's just the vocals that make it seem less monotonous. Your voice sounds like Morrissey if he was even more depressed than usual. :D

Ill have a work on the bottom end..Ive got a sub in there I cut back and one of the kicks is a bit "boomy"

You do have a familiar sounding voice - can't say who but it's what I'd call "classic". The crackly noise felt "out of time" with the guitar in the song - kinda fighting it - not sure if that has a tempo setting. That's all for me the mix works well for me. I like the keys and guitar settings/arrangement they compliment each other well.
 
Thanks ido...I cant believe i plugged my guitar in to strum four chords...was almost not worth it :) Im doing, an almost, all guitar track at the moment and its all of three chords and five bass notes... Im going to enjoy the comments on shit tones and fizzyness...like I have a clue :)


The crackly noise is an FX so I may be able to warp the audio...dunno, depends if anyone else thinks they can hear a tempo clash

my voice is kinda suited to the monotone, not sure its a good thing..I think i sound like the singer in the editors, but with a cleft pallet! :D
