From their website today (note wrong year in notice):
*******************************************
6/29/00 Unfortunately SeaSound is no longer in business. This page is hosted as a courtesy to current owners of SeaSound products and those considering using these great sounding, albeit defunct, interfaces.

SeaSound phone lines, mailing address and email address are now non-functional. Updates to Tech support FAQ and links to future user forum will be posted in the future here.

my predictions were correct... never doubt the infinite wisdom of TubeDude! :)

Fuck that sucks. They should warn you before you buy their looks to inexpensive to be true blow out gear. Though I guess that's pretty much a warning in itself.

I had figured that SeaSound's odds of biting it were about 90%, but I expected that they'd linger a bit longer in limbo. Obviously they were waiting for me to take delivery of my SoloEX. This announcement was posted sometime between when I left home for GC and when I got back. 8-)

Still, if I want to bail, I have thirty days to do it with GC. If I can get my damned computer built in time to give this thing a thorough shakedown by then, it'd be great. If it's problem-free, however, I'm certainly going to keep it. There's no way I can find a better deal on a starter setup of this inherent quality (and the SeaSound is definitely a nice rig) that may be entirely adequate for my needs even in future. It's my experience that equipment like this is bad out of the box or in the first few days, and if it makes it past that it's usually good for years, plus I take good care of my toys. Sonar is nice, but I can live without it.

What I do find somewhat promising is that the site will supposedly be left up for a user forum for those still working with the equipment. My experience with orphaned software and hardware is that once the company goes belly-up and gets out of the way and leaves a site up for a central user mutual-support locus, the people tend to really step up and take charge, and support often becomes practically improved over that available when the companies were alive. We'll see if this happens. There are certainly enough of these things out there in daily use by people who know that they're doing.

So, to recap, no real surprises other that the comic timing of the announcement and no regrets at this point, considering the price.
