I'm going to order one tomorrow. I'll use it with my Ampeg combo and Strat. I'm looking forward to more aggressive rythym tones. I'll have a Tube Screamer, Fuzz Box, Metal Zone and Klon to cover all my basic gain needs.

The Klon Centaur is a OD/gain/boost type pedal I believe (similar to Z Vex Super Hard-on plus OD I think). Pretty legendary from what I've read. I saw one on eBay going for like $355 and another with a Buy It Now price of $465. Both looked pretty vintage though so that might have certainly had something to do with it. Pretty pricey but it's a very well-reputed piece of gear, at least according to Harmony Central reviews. Never tried one out myself. Looks like people buy and love it more for the transparent boost it offers and less for the overdrive. Lot of improve-without-altering-your-tone type comments.

Is it yours yet cerealchamp and if so what's the verdict? And if you care to offer it up, what was the $damage$ for it? Sounds like it's a standby with the tone conscious crowd. Enjoy...

The used ones go for excess of $400 due to availability. I wrote a check on 5/31 for about $290 but I won't see the box until 12 weeks from then. I played one 5 years ago once and wished I would have picked it up. Until then I won't hold my breath!

Wow, if I could bring myself to pull my Centaur off of my pedal board I might consider selling it. I could sure use the cash right now.
I had no idea that the value had gone up so. I got mine about three years ago from a luthier/amp and pedal tech hear in Austin who had a relationship with Mr. Klon. He called to place the order while I was standing there, and in the middle of their converstaion Joe Perry called to place an order for another Centaur. I figured that I was on the right track.

It hasn't left my rig since I got it. They have always been hard to get as he only makes so many.
