Hi,

I am looking to make the move from a semi-pro dance music DJ to production.

All i have so far is:

Intel p3 500, 256mb RAM, 13 gig HD.
Minidisk Recorder
Amp & speakers


What i want is to be able to do is produce professional sounding music.

I would want a external sampler, but which emu or akai?

Obviously a soundcard is a must - but which?

What else do i require?

There is a budget of $2,000 - $2,500, if anyone could help me i would appreciate it very much.

synthzone.com ... ask them ,they are good with synth and dance music production questions.. although , we are THE BEST at everything else.. :)

I been thinking that I would get an emu sampler one of the midrange ones for some stuff they are supposed to wipe the floor with akai with how u can modify sounds and such they are about in your proce range
