It's been a while, some new tracks

What’s up everybody? It’s been a while since I posted anything. I’ve been real busy moving to a new apartment and building a new studio. I’m in the midst of trying to put together a CD I’m submitting to a group from Canada, but I can’t decide on the last beat.

I have 2 tracks already, both pretty aggressive, and I have these 2 tracks left to decide from because I can only send 3. The first one “Triple Threat” is a preproduction track (I haven’t dumped the audio into the PC yet) and is somewhat aggressive. The other “Out Of Control” is pretty much mellow and is fully produced, but only minimally mastered.

If possible, take a listen to these 2 tracks and tell me which you like better and why. Feel free to really tear into them as they are fully editable and I want only the tightest material. Thanks.

Welcome back, buddy!

New apartment? New studio? I see u've been busy.

Now for these tracks:

Out of Control - I like the guitars is it? on the verses - they're dope. I like it a lot. Quite a calming record, lovin' those synths - not too keen on the "out of control", but I love the change-ups at the end. I find it quite hard to distinguish a hook.

Triple Threat - I'm diggin' the intro an' the overall witheld 'waiting patiently to strike' kind of feel to it. I like the tune that comes in for the hook. It's not as hard-hittin' as I would have expected, but it depends on the MC's who rip it an' you know their style betta than me.

What types of tracks are the other two you sent and what is the group's flow like?

I need these answers 'fore I can make a decision.

Knew you'd be workin' on sum bangaz - I almost missed this post 'coz of all the others, u've missed out on quite a bit.

Thanks for the welcome, listen and replies. As always, it's appreciated. I probably should have given a little more info, it was late when I uploaded and posted last night.

Anyways, I've never heard the group truthfully. It's a "I know somebody who know's somebody who know's somebody" type thing. I'm told they are looking for 2 tracks. They only criteria I was given was that at least one had to contain backing strings, both had to be suitable for double word flow and it wouldn't hurt to have a portion of a hook melody in either or both.

One of the other tracks I'm sending, "Here Comes", is a similar to "Triple Threat" in instrumentation, but it's a much bigger orchestration with timpanis, percussion section, more strings.

The other, "Do You Hear?, is basically all synths, lots of arpeggios and swells, an interesting track.

I was pretty much set on the preproduction track "Triple Threat", but I didn't want to have to go through the whole production process again because that's all I've done for the last few weeks and I'm feeling lazy about it now.

"Out of Control" was not made for this project and I added the vocal sample to give a little melody to the hook. I am not really that big on it either, but I wasn't sure. Thanks for the feedback there.

Nuthin' posted up quite yet, but been a big collabo goin' on - I suggest u check the "Colaborations" thread out. OUr team is sortin' out lyrics then we're gonna get vocals rec'ed an' flossy'll mix it up 4 every1 2 hear.

I've been mainly doin' lyrical work myself - been downloadin' lots of tight beats (still need to do that one I wuz gonna do ages back - I wasn't too happy with sum of the verse lyrics, so I did sum otha stuff then came back to it recently); got all the lyrics done for a track wit someone from my group (cool concept, I think u'll like) workin' on more lyrics for another track wit tha whole group - a sol beat, so it can't be bad. If u wanna check out my lyrics for the collab (the final ones are shorter as they were too long, I cut some of the end out) and every1's been freestylin', etc. - so hop onta' tha "Poetry Club" thread. U wanna check out the thread "The Only Sun" - tight beat by Lazi and "Another Mix My joint with perception" for a tight chalin track. Good idea ta' check out flossy's tracks and jugalo's tracks. And soundboy's talib kweli "just to get by remix" - raticus did one, too.

Oh, and even I did a bit o' production on the collab. track, even with my trashy sounds!

I set up my website, too - it's not really finished and I don't really have much to put on it; you'll notice that everything links to everything else. I've really had my mind on other things - workin' on ma' flow (which is kinda important - I find it hard to get a good sound when u have a deep voice) - I worked at my guitar an' I can play chords, but no matter how lightly I press I keep breakin' the strings - so it's a bit knacked up. I promised myself that I will learn to play it - but it'd be a lot easier when I leave school 'coz I need to be able to play an instrument for my exams, etc. I really wanted to do something other than clarinet (just not keen on the way it sounds) I could've gone sax but the price wuz a bit off-puttin', so i'm learnin' keyboard/piano - see how I go, if it's not goin' well I'll just have to switch back to clari and work my ass off to get back to catch up.

I think u should use "Triple Threat", BTW.

stray, i'll be back later with a more detailed review of those beats. right now, all i can say is they both are on fire man, but if you had to pick one out of them, i would go with Out Of Controll, just because it's on some different ish. man, i'm writing to those beats right now, since they are going up north, i guess i'll have to make my own tracks. damn!

Checked out you audio. You taking lessons or learning on your own? Either way it sounds pretty good. I need to get into some lessons myself one of these days.

Listening to "Who Said". I like the way this builds from the intro. This could make from some interesting and intricate flows.

"Willie B Riddem". Another different feeling track. I like this one too, but the drum and synth rhythms get a bit repetetive after a while. Good work on these.

You completely changed the vibe of "Get By" and, although the original is one of the hottest tracks I've heard in a long time, I like this. You kind of smoothed the song out, ironically this version has less of underground vibe. Good job.
