I live in nashville and i hear everyone say that all producers say the same thing, it's all about the song.........i interpret that to mean hook..........a catchy thing that you can't get out of your head. If you have a strong hook, you have a hit song.
I hear so many songs on the radio that have weak ass hooks. I keep saying I've got 40 songs better than that one. I'm all about hook, just haven't marketed myself yet, which is a good thing....... can be a good thing for a time till the songs are fine tuned.
That's another thing, re think your songs. Write some new lyrics to it, even if you think you're finished with it. I work on a song and then work on it some more once I think I have it and sometimes, i find a bridge or an ending part that blends in well that really makes the song much better.

didnt you already post somthing very similar to this.

in any case, I agree. :(

Hit music in any genre works this way:

40% the music

40% the hook

20% lyrical verses

Now of course if you have these ingredients and arrange the song wrong (< hey that rhymed) then it will flop
