There once was a day when I could go down to Guitar Center and rifle through boxes full of CD's full of uncopyrighted samples, now I go in there and there isn't jack squat but a couple of cases of drum loops!

I'm looking for samples to load onto my dinosaur Roland W-30 (gasps:eek: ) which I love and is a member of my family (heads up before anyone wants to start ripping). I have a pretty specific group of samples I'm looking for, in order of priority my list goes something like this:

-a really nice group of Fender Rhodes sounds
-various moogish or other mono/poly transistor based synthesizer voices (I'm also looking into landing Creamware's "Minimax" virtual synthesizer which is based on the Mini Moog so that might end up covering this category)
-The newest and most cutting edge electronic/techno/ambient keyboard voices that I can find
- Some authentic samples of strings- sections, violins, violas, cellos
- some good Indian instruments like sitars, santur, sarode, sarangi, dilruba, etc.
-Horns, horn sections

Anyway, can anyone point me to a good resource for these kinds of samples?

:( i'm hungry but earlier today my ass fell off and I had to go buy a new red tricycle with mag wheels. Everytime I see the Northern Lights I think of rats and his twin disk of love fuzzy chest and I shed a tear of joy.

Man Chrissssssssssss you sure know a lot about keyboards!:D

i'm having a pizza now... don't you worry about me...

btw... i can't really help you here... i'm just hanging out too, waiting for someone to answer...

I went floundering about soundsonline.com but what a pain in the ass trying to find a good sample. it seems any of those downloadable samples sites are either a royal pain in the tennenbum or a hoax.

Have you looked at ilio or spectrasonics? Does the roland need a specific format?

the w-30 is like, really ancient... reads old old old roland formats so it prolly needs to be in wav form...

yeah wavs are good. aifs are Ok too. MP3s...basically anything I can play in my editing software (cool edit pro) works.

I'll check ilio and spectrasonics, thanks subbie.
