It rained today.......

Dijjery did... dijjery don't :) This really builds.... Disney soundtrack? Not necessarily a bad thing. Lion King 3: The WaterBuffalo's Revenge.

Cymbal sounds are a bit emaciated... but effective. The pad coming in around 4:20 (ahhhhhhhhhh) clips a few times... seems like some reverb to provide some more depth for the multitude of sounds would improve the sound stage. At this point, it's getting crowded :D

Nice job Lit-up Bob... Steve... or whoever you are today :p

Man, there is some MAJOR hiss on here wi... oh wait - that's rain.

Naw, you're good. :D

I like that first sound a lot...like a Pink Floyd vibe - If I knew how to use keyboards, and I had that patch, I'd call it "Pink Floyd Patch #2"

The only sounds that bug me are the hat and the horns (horns? right?)...horns mostly b/c you're you, and you can play a sax, lol.

Funny, I listened before I saw chad's post...and this hit me as Lion King Next Chapter too.

Anyway...thanks for posting something...ANYTHING, lol.

Cool stuff Lt.

Sounded like rain to me. At least that's pretty much what it sounds like here in Cali when we do have the occasional thunderstorm. Living in a narrow river valley it actually gets pretty damn loud here! Think 5hz 100+db natural delay.:D

Diggin" that digeridoo, although it would be better if you could fade it out of the end of that thunder so the two morph together.

That shaker/egg percussion thing should come in a bit sooner, and stronger.

One more thing: your a horn player, right? I know you can solo something over this..........

;)

LOL - I think I'm just gonna follow you around the clinic as you pull up last week's tunes. :D

Yeah, I agree with you about the rain. At first, I thought it sounded too much like static/white noise. Now, I really like the way it sounds like that for the first five seconds, and then there's that moment when you realize it's *rain*. Excellent.

Horns? I betcha he was takin' a holiday from horns on this one. But yeah, that 3.18 point is *begging* for a solo instrument of some kind. I can hear e guitar. Or a vocal. And *another* layer could be added at 4.22 (which he's done with that horn-y synth sound, but there's room for even more excitement on this one).

That was a funny LOL, I was waiting for the song to start ,,,wearing cans at 1am, and I heard something , did it start to rain and then increase in intensity, I ripped those phones off my head! Thinking its really pouring if its that loud with these on :D :D :D :D Am I a fool or what?
Cool song, Lt, Inspired all kinds of disney like animation images for some reason. probably would fit well in a disflick. With wild overexpressive animated jungle animals. Yes the song demands it!! :):D

Peace
Bill

like ... wow mon ... cool

hmmm, is that real rain ? from your first post ... yes ... cool

yeah, could be a soundtrack like thing ...

I'm at 2:10, and I'm liking things, building nicely

You've got some nice samples and you know how to handle them.

Hell, this is good minimalism. Phillip Glass, watch out !
I hear kind of an expansive African congo thing ... I see this big vista ... panning across a big land ...

That's a nice ahhhhh sample.
You might do some cool experimenting with more panning of the instruments here to give us the feel of movement over this 'great plain' ... You might just try the new STERO SURROUND Mix ... then you could like make us all paranoid, that beasts are sneaking up behind us ... from the side ... and when we turn around 'BOOM' the beasts are in front.

At 4:44 there is a sound that strikes me as kind of artificial, it's a little out of charater, I'd rather hear your sax here.
That thing sounds like a car horn or something. Is that a baritone sax you are playing, answering the 'car horn thing' ... ?

I would like you to think of a herd of small deer like animals up in the 'corner' of your 'tapestry' as they move across the landscape, perhaps their little hooves, (woodblock), kind of shimmering through ... draw a little herd of animals galloping through somewhere ... IMHO

Nice mix.

Cool stuff!
I liked the pan flute,my favorite,(next to the sax!):D

I pictured Amazon tribes marching through the jungle to do battle.

Great job with the samples, nice melody.

Steve,

I listened to this the day you started this thread after a 5 gig stretch @ 4:00 in the AM ,( typed a 4 paragraph response.....fell asleep in the comfy 'puter' chair, & @ 6:30 AM , my wife woke me & put me to bed before she went off to work ......needless to say , the computer was shut off prior to hitting the 'send response' button and all was lost.....

In essence, my friend, all I can say in recapitulation is..... warm, full, excellent imagery &.................................YOU ARE TRULY ONE FINE MUSICIAN! (Man, and I THOUGHT you were just a saxman!

Ralph

p.s. I like the rain just fine!

Hey man - Downloaded last night & listening at work on headphones. Doing a little catching up.

This is just wonderful The only thing that came to mind was as this thing built up I would have liked to hear some percussive hits somewhere along the line. Like a harder hit timpani or something or even some orchestra hits or something.

This was really cool. I can’t offer anything really helpful. I need to drag this into the keepers folder. Definitely a good mood piece.

Nice work!!!

wow.....I thought this was long gone.
Thanks for listening......I am going to do some more work on this incorporating a lot of the suggestions you guys have made.
I'm gonna add Toki's spoken word thing and I'll try a sax over the end (I'm not sure about that though...might be too busy) and maybe some more percussion.
