ISA 428 VU Problem

Hi,

I've got an ISA 428 with the Digital Option. Last night I turned on the ISA and noticed the VU meter on channel 1 would not do anything at all. Normally when I power up or down, all the meters jump, same thing if I press the phantom or gain button when on mic input, but again, channel 1 VU was TOTALLY non respondent. Audio is going through and the channel 1 output LED's are doing fine. Also the Channel 1 OL led lights properly. Is it possible for all the audio to be fine with that channel and just the VU gone bad? How serious of a problem is that?

Yes... Not so bad... Try tapping the meter... seriously... if that doesn't work, it's out of warrenty, and you're confident opening it up... check the connections from the pcb to the meter... probably a cold solder joint/bad connection
