was wiring up a cab today. 4 8 ohm speakers for 8 ohms total. This is what I came up with

jack ring (+) to spk1 (-)
spk1 (+) to spk2 (-)
spk2 (+) to jack tip (-)

spk1 (-) to spk3 (-)
spk2 (+) to spk4 (+)

spk3 (+) to spk4 (-)

spk1 and spk2 are in series, spk3 and spk4 are in series, and the two pairs are in paralell. At least that was my intention. Is my wiring correct?

your wiring should be like this (i'm better at working with pictures):

it should be like this:

jack ring (-) to spk1 (-)
spk1 (+) to spk2 (-)
spk2 (+) to jack tip (+)

spk1 (-) to spk3 (-)
spk2 (+) to spk4 (+)

spk3 (+) to spk4 (-)

the way you had it, 1 and 2 were out of phase with 3 and 4. that did me some good to think that out (as simple as this stuff is to some people). :p

wait so is the ring + or - and is the tip + or - ? I think that was the only diff I saw in your schemo?

tip is +, sleeve is -

actually, it doesn't really matter which is + or - as long as you have all your speakers in phase with each other.
