Hi Garry,
Hey man......
Can you post the lyrics please?

Thanks amigo,
Joe

Hey Joe
Here you go
Amigo

(They are written for effect, not poetic precision, but I'm hoping they deliver the general message when listened to:) )

Rizla

Crushed in his fingers, rolled in a cigarette paper
All that I had, the wrong match turned into vapour
Singles bar pick up, smile flashed brighter than lightning
Man in a hurry, no time for doing the right thing

Chorus:

Rizla tongue twister set me alight
Flash words burnt out don’t last the night
Mister fast mover turn up the heat
Fire setting flame burning take to your feet

Verse 2

I knew about him, all my teen education
Dream of the bad man, find that secret sensation
Wake in a strange bed, sunlight tears off the covers
Talk about empty, I don’t remember a lover

Repeat Chorus

It’s a story that’ll never die
Every honest heart’s been deceived by the eye
And it was just 12 hours ago that I met….

Repeat Chorus

Hi Garry,

Prosody...or "good" prosody ....to me means that as you listen to the combination of music and lyric......there is a harmonious fusion of aliteration, melody, rhythmn, meter and genre association....
In other words...the words fit to the music and the story or meaning behind the words is understood by the audience.

I must be the uncoolest guy in the world...I have no idea what Rizla is man.........
The meter and structure of your tune is really good....I just don't understand the story.....

BTW...the guitar aint that bad man....actually...it's just a bit muddy...pretty cool :D bass is too hot man...kills the vox track...
You should post this one in the Clinic man...

Take it easy man,
Joe

Thanks Joe

The song is by and about a girl who's been let down by a man who didn't deliver what he promised. She's angry and dismissive and the song is loud, fast and furious.

Well at least, that's what I was trying to do:)

I didn't want a clean guitar - it's actually two guitar parts. I'm surprised the bass is too hot - are you listening on bass heavy monitors. I check my "mixes" on three different hifi systems to try to get the level right.

Anyway, as always thanks for taking the time to listen; you've given me some pointers to where there is more work to do which is what this is all about.

Stay cool

Garry
