i rap and i use cool edit , i've been using cool edit but tell me if im doing good , when i lay down a verse i use two tracks i say the verse and repeat the same verse in another track so i use two vocals , so i pan the first track14% left and the other track 30% right , and for the chorus i use 4 tracks and pan two track 14% left and 30 % right and the other two 20% left and 32% right, and i compress all of them what else do i need to do to make it sound better then what it sounds , for example what i need to do that other producers that use cool edit do ?

Panning's cool, and compressing will tend to make the vocal sound more prominent and give you more control over the levels. But you didn't mention the use of EQ at all in your approach. After levels and panning, EQ is the first thing I do in a mix. Listen to three ranges: lows, mids, highs. Is the track too muddy? Then cut the lows. Is it too honky or nasal? Then cut the mids, especially the lower mids. Is it bright enough? If not, then boost the highs.
