"Let Yourself Go"
This tune will probably be lengthened for vocals, but...is this crap?
Go ahead, I can take it. Thanks
We also plan to do something with "I dunno", and "Waiting"...opinions or comments are welcome.

not my cup of tea, sorry. Seems a little boring. Music should be more creative i feel in this day and age. Try more chord changes. Thats just my opinion though.
"One mans poison is another mans antidote."

I thought this was boring also,..but,...then i listened to the vocal test.
Angy got a good voice!
I think this kind of music falls into that category. Boring without that singer.
Honestly,..after I heard the track with the vocs,..i was really diggin' that tune man!
I'd buy it.

Take 'er easy,...

Calwood

The production is good very will recorded. As for being boring thats a matter of opinion. As mentioned earlier with vocals this could be a very good song as long as the singers is good.

:)

A song like this is simple, and relies sooooo much on the vocals. Not boring with vocals!!!

Boring

I appreciate the opinions. The vocals will make a big difference, and then I can add some accents around them. I didn't see any point in heaping a bunch of crap on too early...that will come later. I like to keep things pretty sparse to leave room for the singer. Unfortunately, the singer(Angy), was bitten by a cat last night and cannot sing on tranquilizers(or maybe she bit the cat and the cat has been tranquilized...I'm not sure)
Actually, the tune was originally acoustic fingerpicking and we intend to re record it that way to better suit her vocal qualities. It's possible that It wont sound so one dimensional in it's original form. Thanks again!
Thanks for the glimmer of hope Calwood, I'm sure she'd appreciate the complement (if she werent tranquilized.)

my experience with songwriting is that if you have to ask someone if its crap...it usually is lol

I hate to beat a dead horse...

I hate to beat a dead horse...though I can't stop myself from poking this one with a stick.
My experience is...if you put together and record a tune in 1 day, it requires many, many playbacks and you tend to lose your sense of objectivity and a bit of feedback from fellow musicians can be helpful. Personally, I like the tune- though it came out completely different than I expected.I may repost when the vox and fills are attached. But Thanks again for all the input folks...
Good to hear from ya Distorted-really!
Just say NO to tranquilizers! :p

I listened over a dial-up to the hi-fi vocal test version. I like the song, especially with her voice.

There seems to be a lot of hiss, and the vocal track was hard to hear early on but too harsh further in. The guitar work and bass lines well together but the guitar also seemed a tad harsh or distorted.

I think some harmonized oohs and ahhs would fit right in.

I really agree with the "oohs"and "aahs" part, I think that back up vocals are important and under rated and to be honest, I just made that same suggestion to the singer. As far as the hissining and stuff...I don't hear any on my system,it sounds pretty good, but everything I upload to a website sounds awful...very muddy and not very pleasant. I don't know how some guys seem to get very good results on these machines. I'm using Magix Audio 2004 through Eurorack mixer and into a M-Audio 2496, and though I'm getting better, I admit I have lots to learn, I hear a difference between my headphones and my audio output...my stereo. I honestly don't know what to believe until I burn a cd and play it on several machines...by then, I don't know what to believe...they all sound different. I'm open to suggestions. Thanks for the input.-J
Eddie Ray...I just re read your post...perhaps you listened to the "vocal test". If so, that's not a very good example of the music, it really was a test. She lives in Portland and I live in Houston....can you imagine how long it takes to even do a test? Roughly a week by email. And so it goes... :)
