IS this CPU usage normal

My config:
PIII 800
384M PC133 RAM
2 x 30G HD (one Seagate, one Maxtor)
G400 Display card
CWPA 903
Gina24
SBLive

most of my projects run about 20-30 audio tracks without a problem
i ususally use 2 aux for reverb and delay
totally 3-4 compressors and 3-4 EQ on individual tracks

my CPU counts aound 35-45% (beyond that, ocassional dropout)
but my disk usage barely goes more than 5%

Usual tricks to optimize is done (little backgroud task, no Virtual
memory, cache in system.ini, no VGA accelaration....)

should it be better off optimizing for more disk usage instead?

seems right, but why no VM?

doesn't sound like you are underperforming, if you are pushing 24+ tracks.

your disks are keeping up and your CPU is handling the job.

i don't understand not having virtual memory? did you mean that you have your VM hard set?
