I'm planing to invest my future earnings to this rack shit again. I'm looking a dual preamp with spdif out for my Mia soundcard...

What do you think about Dbx 386

http://www.dbxpro.com/386.htm

Is that a sucker or what?

Are there any other gizmos like this in the market?

What about Dbx products in general?

Im in the same boat myself looking for a dual channel preamp with S/PDIF for my Audiophile...one day the wife might let me buy a drumkit and id need those extra 2 channels.......

cards like the Audiophile and the Mia only have a stereo analog input and a S/PDIF input...so with a 2 channel analog preamp and a preamp with S/PDIF, you can record 4 tracks simultaneously.......

the Joe Meek VC1Q does but its $599 plus u have to buy an addon card?....whatever that is....but the Joe Meek sound is so sweeeeet.......

Thanks for the reply

and Yes as Gidge said we need spdif and were...
I can imaging you also driving your J-station to audiophiles spdif hole and wishing that... as I m driving mine to MIA...:D

I Think The DIO would be cheapest solution but I couldn't find it here in europe... my dealer has only the version with out spdif...
Is the bit range and sample rate also adjustable in ART DIO as they are in dbx...(I Think the dbx has also wreaking channel inserts which I consider to be a big plus)

The cheapest gizmo that would do the trick I could find here in Europe was this
http://www.mindprint.com/english/index.htm
Mindprint Di-port but it costs here about 350$

Joe Meek would be a beaty but if buy that my wife's gonna definitly burn me alive.

What about the ART DIO anybody using that? Or does anybody have any Ideas about the quality of the converters in that preamp???
