Thanks. I think I'm saving a few bones by buying it used.

I know from personal experience that the amp in question is indeed bad ass.

The store I went to was selling Marshall, Laney, Traynor, Fender, Line 6, etc.etc.etc......

And the Orange amp - ANY Orange amp - was obviously a far step better than all the other amps in the store. But that was playing it thru an Orange cab also.

It's good stuff.

Any suggestions for the ideal cabinet to go with this? I've got a Marshall 4x12 with Greenbacks... should this be sufficient?

I don't think it's better, it's different. Better for some stuff, not for everything.
It is a great amp in any case

You'll probably drool all over it when you hear the killer tone you'll get. :D

Hate to be this guy, but I've seen under the hood of this thing and it's nothing like the Oranges of the past. The transformers are nice, but the rest of it is made with lower than radio shack grade parts. They don't even use full-size pots! For that price, I would expect a lot more.

Who gives a flying fart. Listen to the damn thing, it sounds incredible. It may not be built to the highest standards but we're also not talking about a 4 thousand dollar boutique tube amp, we're talking about a $1500 assembly line amp.

It's like 2800 new though.

IF I WAS dropping 2800 coin, i'd be looking at a bogner.

i mean, there's a lot more bang for the buck out there, if that interests you....

look at the Mesa Stilletto.

check a bogner shiva.

how about a THD Flexi-50?

lots of good stuff out there, a lot cheaper than 2800 bucks!

I've got to agree with Gonzo. There are way better amps in that price range. The Mesa Stilletto, Bogner Shiva, and the Carvin Legacy will all stomp that Orange to a pulp. Don't believe the hype about Orange. People are always praising the Tiny Terror and that amp sounds like dog crap.

Are we talking about the same amp? The ones that I've heard sound about as good as a Marshall Valvestate.
