hi -- i know i could sit here and absorb all the mic wisdom i could ever need until my eyes fall out from looking at this monitor too long, BUT i'd also like a couple good books.

has anyone read Professional Microphone Placement by Huber et al? is it of use?

it looked a little "slick" but also looked fairly comprehensive in terms of the types of instruments covered -- stuff i don't have experience with but would like to have a clue about.

thanks for any info!!

THis will likely help you before you spend and maybe help you make better sense of what you really need to know beffore you start dropping a lot of $$ on books. Peter

Lilcapn,I'll find the thread and bring it back up.It's called ;"How does diaphram size/polar patterns relate to mic applications".There is a link within the thread to an abridged version to print out, still it's over seventy five pages long.Best thread I ever read.
