Mixing other people's stuff is one of the things I professionally get paid for. PM me if you wishto discuss it further.

Go ahead and visit my web site, if you'd like:

www.moonunitsound.com

You can listen to examples of stuff I've done there, as well as rates, etc.

I don't normally pimp like this, by the way. I just think a much better mix can be made in Bucktown. All they have on the South side are drunk Irish folk singers and rappers. :D :D

I think the far west suburbs of chicago is the way to go. Much less noise, less distractions, traffic, lunatics, etc...

Hit my website, I'd be happy to do it as well.

I am a sober Bavarian (yeah yeah, I know...go figure ;) ) who prefers blues and classic jazz and who has an actual professional baseball team on his side. I also don't have the blatent audacity (freeware pun not intended) to give myself a handle that rips on one of the major classic studios of this town. ;) :D

Yeah, the Land Of Wonder Bread and Minivans is the place to go to get an injection of feeling and soul into one's mixes. ;) :D

Hey, let's stop beating on each other. Any of us Chicago-area guys (including Jon "Massive" S. for the mastering) can beat the living crap out of anybody this side of Memphis! :D

Ya see, that's what I'm talkin' about, SS.

You have a suburbanite mix your stuff, and it will probably come out sounding like an Olive Garden, an Outback Steak House, or worse yet a strip mall.

I do drive a minivan. It's just big enough to hold my 800 watt stereo with 2 15" subs.

It's just like a south-sider to take two jabs and then say we should stop beating on each other. :D

I'm in the VA suburbs of DC, land of the Beltway Bandits (defense contractors). I will do your mix for cost plus an 8% profit, but only after I inflate my costs with the purchase of $50 CD-Rs, $600 one-time use speaker cables, and $75 margaritas :D Oh yes, I'll fail to meet your time and budget constraints, so be prepared for a shockingly expensive series of change orders (COs) replete with undecipherable acronyms (UAs).

As soon as I get your RFP, I'll start working on my bid :p

Or you could hire MadAudio. He lives in the city, so if you pay him a $10,000 monthly retainer, he will lobby Congress to enact a bill providing public funding for your mix ;)

Seriously, hire any of the above guys. If you pick Bear, you can pay him with funny colored Monopoly-style money that has pictures of hockey players on the back--and don't let him bargain for more, one hockey player is plenty!

If you pick any of the Windy City wiseguys, when you ask them how much it will cost, they will ask you how much you got

Hey, I was just jabbing back. ;) Besides two jabs from a South-sider are better than better than the bottle over the head that CubbieBoy up there in Bucktooth blindsided me with to start this whole thing off. ;)

All in jest...at least it is from down here where we have the sense to actually number our streets :D.

Hey, at least we'll be kind enough to kick back 10% under the table ;) :D

Of course, I may have to tack on a few line items (like maybe a fact-finding mission to Jamaica), in keeping with the spirit of true Washington politics! :D

just out of curiosity....how come you're not looking for anyone in your city?

these guys who have responded are great and know their stuff....but if I just joined this forum a few days ago, I'm not so sure I'd immediately ask for someone I don't know in another state or country to mix my stuff.

Guess that's just me though. I'd rather go somewhere that I can actually meet the person, see the equipment and maybe sit in on the mix for a bit.

you are right

im giving it a shot
why not

to each his own

plus, some of these guys are awsome and provide nice samples...plus its not like im sending them all my money and sucking my thumb, waiting for something...
some offers i got included them doing the mix with no money down, and after i observe the final product (snippet) i will then send the money and get the final cd.....final mixdown....so thats cool

plus, the rates are very different...i never realized that...

but im still contacting and picking what i would like

thanks guys!
