Is there any point in upgrading my soundcard?

Im just about to build a new PC (and run my old one as a slave) and it was brought to my attention that maybe i should upgrade my soundcard as well.

Im using a Delta 44/Omni Studio at the moment. The thing is, im barely doing any live source recording, most of my work is done in the computer with VSTi's and samples.

What audible difference would a newer better quality sound card make to my situation?

Unless you need more inputs, you'll get better results from spending the money on room treatment

If you're not doing much live work, then the current card is fine IMO

Other cards can improve playback quality - but unless you have particulalry nice monitors it won't be worth it.
