Is there a way for decent simultaneously recording?

Somehow I cannot find a way to record Guitar & vocal simultaneously but on different tracks?
The only way i could find to record guitar and microphone at the same time was to change the record settings of my Sound card (creative extigy) to "what you hear" but then if you don't like just a part of "what you hear" you need to record everything from scratch..!

Any ideas?

read these forums, and you will see creative cards have been commented on hundreds of times.
they are gaming cards. rather than proper recording cards.
what you might consider is a proper multiple input sound card like a delta (assuming you have a pc - please list confign) .
thus you will be able to record multiple sources to multiple tracks.
